So for our first blog post, we decided to blog about our scariest adventure that just happened to take place tonight! So Hilary consented to take pictures of her friend, Ashton, who is a DJ in Salt Lake. Jamie went along for moral support. We met him in a Smith's parking lot in downtown SLC. While waiting for him to get there, we saw all kinds of creepers, including a scary asian man who decided that winking at us and showing us where his teeth used to be would be cool. Needless to say, we pulled out the pepper spray and had it all ready just in case. The first adventure of the night was in a parking lot of some ghetto apartments where there was a cool graffiti wall. All of the apartments had bars on the windows, if that gives any indication as to the quality of the part of town we were in. The pictures were pretty cool but Jamie was continuously checking behind her to make sure she wasn't about to get jumped:) After the graffiti wall we went to some old buildings just south of Temple Square. Ashtons friend, Vasuvio, was fixing up one of the sections of the buildings. We started out by walking into the part that was being remodeled, then through a garage filled with energey drinks and cigarette smoke- except we're not talking about your usual cigarette here because it smelled of weed. After the garage we walked up a set of stairs into a loft that had poker tables, strobe lights, a well stocked bar, and a healthy amount of men due to the fact that they were having a bachelor party there. As we were walking through the loft Vasuvio said (what we thought was a joke), "don't get excited guys, these aren't the strippers." We didn't give a second thought to that comment and proceeded to climb up a ridiculously skinny and steep ladder which took us to the roof of the building where we would be doing our photoshoot. Unforunately the place Hilary rented the lighting equipment from failed to put one very important chord into the bag so the photoshoot was not a success. As we were gathering the equipment up and putting it away we got word that the REAL STRIPPERS had just showed up. Trying to protect us two Mormon girls, they immediately expressed to us that time was of the essence here and that we needed to get and get out SOON. Ashton and his two friends said they would put the equipment away and bring it out to the car so we could leave before the real party began. So, as quickly as possible we lowered ourselves down the skinny and steep ladder. Dodging as many drunk men as possible we walked through the loft where we saw the back of the stripper, however, we're not really sure what she would be stripping since she hardly had anything on to begin with. Then we went through the weed filled garage and back to the safety of Hilary's car. All we could say was, "what a night!"
